MARIA 15403-18 is an LED ceiling light by JUST LIGHT, part of the Neuhaus group, made from a flat black band bent into two three-dimensional loops. A narrow diffuser strip along the inner edge of the band gives the light, and the whole fitting sits on a black ceiling base. The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to buy.
How big it is and how it is mounted
The fitting is 61 cm long, 24.5 cm wide and 27 cm high, measured from the ceiling to the lowest point of the loop. The shape is clearly elongated, so compare the 61 cm with the width of the room or hallway and run the light along the longer wall. The housing at the ceiling measures 19 × 19 cm and is 5 cm deep.
Two wall plugs and two screws are included, and the holes for them are drilled with an 8 mm bit. The light weighs 0.83 kg. It is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor, runs on 230 V and is for indoor use only.
How much light it gives and how it dims
The LED module is rated 15.5 W and 2200 lm, but after the diffuser the fitting delivers 1050 lm while drawing 18 W. The second figure is the one to plan with: a little more than a traditional 60 W bulb gave (about 800 lm). 3000 K is warm white, a calm light for evenings in a living room or bedroom.
The light uses Switchmo: it dims from an ordinary wall switch, with no separate dimmer. Switching quickly off and on again steps the brightness through 100, 50 and 12 %. The maker states a lifetime of 30,000 hours and 15,000 switching cycles, and the light comes on in under half a second. The LED module and driver may only be replaced by a qualified technician.
Where MARIA fits
The maker intends it for the living room, bedroom, office and hallway. The form is modern: a smooth black band without ornament, its loops leaving the base in different planes, which the side views show clearly. The MARIA series also includes ceiling lights in brass and silver finishes and pendants of the same shape.
