Neon Flex HR Eco is a bendable light hose in a red silicone body 6 mm wide. Inside it run 100 LEDs per metre, supplied at 12 V DC. The silicone stays red when the hose is switched off, so the run still reads as a red stripe.
How it is bought and cut
The product is sold by the running metre, cut from a reel — a "1 m" listing is one such unit, not a ready-made length. For 6.5 m of continuous line you order six and a half units.
The cutting section is 10 mm, so the hose can be shortened every centimetre. The manufacturer gives a maximum reel length of 25 m, which sets the longest piece available in one span. The bending radius is 1.5 cm, so the hose takes curves and letters without being heated.
How much light it gives, and what kind
Every metre draws 12 W and emits 180 lm over a 120° beam. Luminous flux is weighted by the sensitivity of the eye, which is low for saturated red — 180 lm from a red hose looks considerably brighter than the figure suggests next to a white equivalent.
The light leaves as a continuous band with no visible dots, which is what separates it from an ordinary LED strip and why this type is used for lettering and edges. The energy efficiency class is F.
Where it can be mounted
In its basic form the hose is rated IP44, that is protected against splashing water, and the manufacturer intends it for interiors. Closing the ends with the dedicated caps raises the sealing to IP65 and allows outdoor use.
Operating temperature runs from -20 to 50°C and storage from 0 to 60°C. The 6 mm width lets the hose disappear into a narrow slot or follow an edge.
What has to be bought with it
The hose runs on 12 V DC, so the installation needs a supply at that voltage sized for the total load — at 12 W per metre a ten-metre run comes to 120 W.
Mounting clips and end caps — with a cable hole and without — are separate articles from this manufacturer and are not part of the running metre. The end cap is also the part the step up to IP65 depends on.
