Canis 5-Kit is a set of five round Nordlux recessed downlights with a metal ring in brushed nickel. Each one is 8.5 cm across on the outside and has a tilting insert that swings 30Β° off vertical. GU10 bulbs are included.
What comes in the box
The set holds five complete downlights, each with its own mounting spring, cable and quick connector, plus five GU10 light sources. The manufacturer gives the net weight of the whole kit as 0.665 kg, which works out at roughly 133 g per fitting.
The supplied bulbs are 4.7 W LEDs of 345 lm each β five fittings together give about 1725 lm, roughly two traditional 60 W bulbs spread over five points. The GU10 socket is replaceable and takes bulbs of up to 50 W, so a failed LED does not mean replacing the fitting.
The hole you need to cut, and what to watch during installation
The manufacturer requires a mounting hole 6.5 cm in diameter, and the built-in depth is 11.5 cm β compare that second figure with the space left above your own suspended ceiling. The 8.5 cm ring covers the edge of the hole.
The fittings must not be built directly into thermal insulation, and the manufacturer states there is no parallel connection, so each one needs its own supply. They run on 220β240 V, and protection class II means no earth conductor is required.
What the light is like and where to plan it
The bulbs emit 6500 K, a cold daylight white with a distinctly blue-white cast, at Ra 80 and a 36Β° beam angle. This is task light rather than mood light β the manufacturer intends the fittings for the kitchen, the entrance hall and the corridor. The stated LED lifetime is 15,000 hours.
The tilting insert aims the beam at a worktop, a cupboard door or a wall instead of straight down. The set cannot be dimmed: the supplied sources are not dimmable and the fittings carry no control gear of their own. Canis is for dry indoor spaces only.
