Nordlux Led Strip is a self-adhesive LED strip 5 m long, 8 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick that gives a warm white light of 2700 K. It comes wound on a reel together with a plug-in power supply, which it connects to through a plug at the end of a 120 cm white cable.
How much light and what kind
The whole strip gives 1150 lm at 14 W, which is around 230 lm per metre. That is decorative and supplementary light, and the manufacturer classes the strip as effect lighting rather than a replacement for a ceiling light. 2700 K is a warm, slightly yellow light, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for lighting a worktop or shelves.
The strip cannot be dimmed. The LEDs are built in and cannot be replaced, and the manufacturer states a lifetime of 35,000 hours.
Installation and power
The strip sticks in place with the adhesive layer on its back, and the instructions advise cleaning the surface first. Cutting points are marked along the strip, so it can be shortened to the length of a cabinet; the piece cut off is no longer powered. The power supply goes into an ordinary 230 V socket, while the strip itself runs at a safe low voltage (protection class III).
The manufacturer does not allow several strips to be joined on one circuit, so each run needs its own power supply. The supply cable cannot be replaced. The strip is for dry indoor spaces only.
Where it fits
The manufacturer shows it under kitchen wall cabinets, along a staircase and behind a TV, and the catalogue also assigns it to walk-in wardrobes. The flat 8 mm strip hides under a cabinet edge or in a narrow gap where no light fitting would go. The white backing and white cable are least visible on light-coloured furniture.
