Nordlux Led Strip LED strip 3 m 11 W 900 lm 2700 K IP20 with driver

Led Strip is a three-metre Nordlux LED tape 8 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick, with a run of diodes on one face and adhesive on the other. The manufacturer supplies a plug-in driver with it, on a 120 cm lead in white plastic insulation.

How much light it gives and what it is meant for

The whole three-metre run delivers 900 lm in total — barely more than an old 60 W bulb spread over three metres, so this is supplementary light rather than the main lighting for a room. Nordlux classes it as effect lighting.

At 2700 K the light is a warm white with a distinctly yellow cast, close to an old filament bulb, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough where the tape washes a surface rather than lighting work that depends on colour. Nordlux names three places it designed the strip for: beneath kitchen cabinets, along a staircase and behind a TV screen.

What is in the box and how it connects

The tape runs on extra-low voltage, so it will not work straight from a socket — the 220–240 V mains driver is included and ends in an ordinary plug, so nothing has to be bought separately and no electrician is needed. The lead is 120 cm, and that is the distance between the start of the tape and the socket.

The cable cannot be replaced, and strips are not connected in parallel with one another: every run needs its own driver and its own socket. The tape cannot be dimmed — the brightness is fixed.

Mounting, size and service life

The strip is 8 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick, so it fits under a kitchen cabinet lip or into a narrow rebate where an ordinary fitting would not go. It sticks down on the adhesive already applied to its back, and can be shortened with scissors at the points marked along the circuit.

The IP20 rating limits it to dry interiors — it has no place under an extractor hood or in the splash zone beside a sink. The diodes are soldered in permanently and the manufacturer rates their life at 35,000 hours; once they are spent the whole run is replaced. The strip with its driver weighs 0.2 kg.
