Nordlux PATO Square 83840034 is a recessed ground light with a square stainless-steel face and a circular clear-glass window. It leaves a small metal frame visible at the surface rather than adding a tall lighting post. Four exposed screws and the brushed appearance of the face give it a restrained, geometric character.

Allow for the body below the surface

The fitting measures 11 cm in both width and length and stands 12 cm high. Planning therefore involves more than the visible square: the body also needs space beneath the finished surface. Overall product dimensions are not automatically the required cut-out dimensions. Prepare the installation position using the PATO instructions rather than treating the frame width as an opening specification.

Nordlux identifies driveways, walkways and patios as intended lighting locations. The recessed format allows light points to be incorporated into paved areas without placing tall garden fittings alongside them. Its plain steel border suits contemporary paving layouts where the light should form part of the surface rather than act as a decorative garden post.

Choose a GU10 bulb separately

PATO has one GU10 socket and is supplied without a bulb. The manufacturer's maximum bulb wattage is 35 W. The chosen compatible bulb determines the light colour and brightness, so the illuminated product photograph does not establish a fixed colour temperature or output for the fitting.

The light uses a 230 V supply and is Class I, which requires a protective earth connection. The mounting instructions show L, N and earth terminals. Electrical installation needs to respect that arrangement and the fitting's IP65 protection rating.

Care requirements for stainless steel

Nordlux recommends treating the surface with acid-free oil three to four times a year. Stainless steel therefore does not mean this fitting is maintenance-free. The manufacturer advises against using this finish in aggressive environments and does not rate it as suitable for seaside conditions. These care and location requirements matter when choosing a ground-level outdoor light.
