The NORLYS Asker 1702GA is a box-shaped outdoor wall light with a body of hot-dip galvanised steel. The zinc coating is left unpainted, so it shows the typical irregular grey spangle. Light leaves upwards and downwards at the same time through clear, textured polycarbonate lenses.
Size and installation
The fitting is about 22 cm wide and 11 cm high and projects 8.5 cm from the wall. It fixes through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm; the base is powder-coated cast aluminium. It weighs 1.45 kg.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and further fittings can be looped through with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several wall lights on one facade can share a single supply run. The gasket is pierced only by a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter — any other size will not seal. It is a protection class I fitting and must be connected with an earth conductor.
Light source
Inside is a single E27 lampholder. No bulb is supplied: the maker allows an A55–A60 shaped LED lamp of up to 9 W and up to 110 mm long, so a wider decorative bulb will not fit. As a reference Norlys names the Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K — the brightness of an old 60 W bulb and a warm, slightly yellow light. Colour temperature and any dimming therefore come with the bulb you choose.
The top and bottom lenses split the light into two bands on the facade (BUG B0-U3-G0), so the fitting suits a wall you want to pick out rather than lighting a wide area.
Build
The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, and impact resistance is IK08. The polycarbonate lens is UV-stabilised and the gasket is silicone. Hot-dip galvanising has no RAL shade — it is a metallic coating rather than paint.
