The NORLYS Astrid 2225CS is a bollard light, 85 cm tall on a 14 × 14 cm square section, intended for permanent fixing into ground or a foundation. The manufacturer files it under bollards — this is not a floor lamp but a piece of landscape lighting bolted down to the ground. The Corten Steel finish is a painted coating in the colour of rusted corten on an aluminium body.
The ribbed form and the light that passes through it
Everything about Astrid is built around its vertical ribs, which run around the whole perimeter of the column. Behind them, in the upper part, sits an opal synthetic diffuser. After dark the light escapes between the ribs, drawing a banded pattern of light and shadow on the bollard and around it — the manufacturer describes it as "a play of light and shadow as the illumination gently shines through the vertical slats". Unlit, Astrid stays a matt geometric object; lit, it turns its surroundings into a drawing in stripes.
This is a decorative solution rather than a utilitarian one, and the difference is worth understanding before buying. The LED module itself produces 2163 lm, but 362 lm leaves the fixture — the rest stays inside the ribbed structure. Luminaire efficacy is therefore 24.8 lm/W against 188.1 lm/W for the source alone. Astrid sets a mood and marks the line of a path; it will not replace a floodlight where a driveway genuinely has to be lit.
Light characteristics
Colour temperature 3000 K (warm white), CRI 80, colour consistency SDCM 3 — several bollards in a row will light in the same tone, which shows immediately along a footpath. Luminaire power 14.6 W, source power 11.5 W. The fitting is dimmable (TRIAC phase control), power factor PF > 0.9, THD ≤ 15 %. Photobiological risk: RG0/RG1 — the exempt or negligible-risk group.
Astrid emits roughly 50 % of its flux upward (ULOR). Where local light-pollution requirements apply, check this figure before specifying — fully shielded bollards have a ULOR close to zero.
Durability: IP65 and IK10
IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — rain, snow and hosing down are no problem. IK10 is the top of the mechanical impact scale: the housing withstands a 20 J impact, i.e. 5 kg dropped from 40 cm. For a bollard standing within reach of a mower, a bicycle or a football, that matters as much as the sealing does, and it is rarely found in this class of product.
Operating range: −20 to +45 °C (reference Ta +35 °C), which covers the whole year in a temperate climate.
Installation and connection
The bollard fixes on three ø 9 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a ø 65 mm circle. Anchoring parts are not included and are chosen to suit the substrate — NORLYS offers mounting adapter ART.3080, ground anchor ART.206, concreting anchor ART.205 and concrete-foundation adapter ART.206S.
Connection is via a terminal block taking up to 3 × 2.5 mm², with the option to loop through to the next fitting in the same 3 × 2.5 mm² — so a run of bollards along a path is fed from a single circuit, with no junction boxes buried in the ground. The gland accepts round-sheathed cable up to ø 12.5 mm. Supply ~220–240 V; inrush current 10 A for 13.5 µs, which matters when sizing protection for several fittings on one circuit. The fitting is Class I and requires an earth conductor.

Body and ribs are powder-coated aluminium, the diffuser opal synthetic material. Net weight 6.2 kg, gross 7.0 kg. Article number 2225CS, EAN 7042898373999, CE marked.
