Norlys ASTRID 2208WH LED bollard light, 85 cm, white, IP65

ASTRID 2208WH is a bollard light 85 cm tall with a square 14 × 14 cm section. The body is an extruded aluminium profile powder-coated white, topped with a milky PMMA head. The cable enters through an EPDM gland.

Size, weight and fixing

The bollard weighs 6.24 kg net and 6.96 kg in a 16 × 16 × 88 cm box. The base bolts down through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle; concreting anchors, ground anchors and mounting adapters are sold separately and have to be matched to the ground before ordering.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow the fixture to be looped through at the same size, while the round sheathed cable may not exceed ø12.5 mm — a figure to check when choosing the underground cable.

The light it gives

The LED module draws 10.6 W across the whole fixture, and 256 lm leaves the head at 3000 K, a warm white, with colour rendering of Ra 80 and colour consistency within SDCM3 — neighbouring bollards in a row will light in the same shade.

Half the flux goes upwards (ULOR 50%) and half down, so the milky head glows all round at eye level and gives soft, diffused light instead of a pool at its foot. At 256 lm per fixture a longer path is planned as a row of bollards.

Control and installation

The luminaire works on DALI2, so it joins a digital control system rather than an ordinary switch. The manufacturer also states how many one circuit breaker will carry: 46 on a B10A, 74 on a B16A, 74 on a C10A and 119 on a C16A — the number a circuit design starts from.

Protection class I requires a protective earth conductor. IP65 sealing and IK10 impact resistance allow it in the open between −20 and +45 °C. The LED module and the driver are replaceable, but by a professional only; the manufacturer rates the driver at 100,000 h and the module at over 70,000 h.
