The Egersund Mini Wood 2308GR is an 85 cm bollard whose shaft is made of impregnated Scandinavian pine, while the head and base are powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016. The timber weathers naturally and shifts tone over time, so after a few seasons every unit looks slightly different — that is the manufacturer's intent, not a defect.

A metallised cone instead of an ordinary shade

Behind the clear PMMA cylinder sits the reflector that defines the whole Egersund series: a metallised cone. It throws light downwards and sideways onto the path around the fitting rather than scattering it at eye level. The result is an even pool of light on the surface with little glare — exactly what path and driveway lighting is asked to do.

864 lumens from 9.1 W at 3000 K

The built-in LED module draws 9.1 W in total (7.4 W for the source itself) and delivers 864 lm out of the luminaire, an efficiency of 94.9 lm/W. The 3000 K tone is warm and stays quiet against a garden setting, while CRI 80 and SDCM1 binning keep a row of bollards lighting in the same shade — something you notice immediately along a path built from several units. The fitting is dimmable, so output can be dropped through the small hours.

Built for the weather

IP65 means full dust-tightness and resistance to water jets; IK08 covers the accidental knock from a mower or a bicycle. The luminaire runs from −20 to +45 °C and is a class II fitting, double-insulated and needing no earth conductor. The powder-coated aluminium carries a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty, and the product as a whole a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Mounting and wiring

The fitting is secured through three ø9 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle, following the supplied instructions. Terminals accept conductors up to 2×4 mm² and loop-through up to 2×2.5 mm²; the gland takes round cable of 8–12.5 mm diameter. Norlys concrete anchors, ground spikes, foundation adapters and connection boxes are accessories bought separately.

Where it works

85 cm is pitched at paths, driveways and bed edges — the light lands where you put your feet, and the bollard itself does not block the view across the garden. Warm timber takes the hardness out of graphite aluminium, so the fitting sits as comfortably against a modern build as against a Scandinavian or rustic house. It also earns its place outside hotels and garden restaurants, where lighting should guide guests rather than dazzle them.
