Norlys GENEVE 1879AL LED Outdoor Wall Light, Light Grey RAL 9006, 8.2 W, 3000 K

The GENEVE 1879AL is a Norlys LED outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated light grey RAL 9006. It is built from a flat wall plate with a rectangular block set in front of it; light leaves the block through two slots, upwards and downwards, drawing two bands of light on the wall.

Size and installation

The fitting is 31 cm tall and 21 cm wide and projects 9.5 cm from the wall. It fixes through two ø5 mm holes spaced 100 × 132 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², the EPDM gland takes round cable of 7–10.5 mm, and the supply can be looped on to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²).

For a row of these on one facade the inrush current of 8 A / 10 µs matters. Norlys states how many fittings one circuit breaker can carry: B 10A — 46, B 16A — 75, C 10A — 74, C 16A — 120. It is a protection class I luminaire and must be connected to the protective earth.

What light it gives

The integrated LED module gives 3000 K warm white light at CRI 80. The LEDs generate 1218 lm and 649 lm leave the fitting at 8.2 W. Half of the output (ULOR 50%) goes up and half goes down, so the light washes the wall above and below the fitting rather than the ground in front of an entrance — Norlys designed it for lighting walls and facades. The satin polycarbonate diffuser spreads the light so individual LEDs are not visible.

It is phase-dimmable, only with a trailing-edge (RC) dimmer. The driver is built in.

Durability and servicing

IP65 protection and a silicone gasket allow mounting on an uncovered wall, and the impact rating is IK08. The LED module and the driver are replaced by a professional service — Norlys stocks separate service kits for them (LED 4699101109, driver 4699100540). Norlys rates the LEDs at L80 over 102,000 h and L90 over 52,600 h, and the driver at 50,000 h.

The same fitting is also made in white and graphite, and in 2700 K (1878) and 4000 K (1880) versions.
