Norlys Lillehammer 1580WH Up/Down Outdoor Wall Light, White, LED 7.3 W, 3000 K

Lillehammer 1580WH is a rectangular outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated white (RAL 9003). It is 18.5 cm high and 8 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall. It shines in two directions at once, a narrow 4° beam one way and a wider 60° beam the other, and the manufacturer allows mounting either way up: narrow beam upwards and wide beam down, or the reverse.

What light it gives

Two built-in LED modules draw 5.6 W between them and the whole fitting 7.3 W. The light source is included, so no bulb is needed. 3000 K is warm white, CRI 80. The fitting emits 130 lm because the light is concentrated into two beams that draw vertical stripes on the wall; the manufacturer intends it for lighting wall surfaces and architectural detail, not for lighting a path or an entrance. Several in a row create a rhythm of bright bands across a facade.

It is dimmable, but only with a trailing-edge phase dimmer (usually marked RC); the Philips Xitanium TE driver is not designed for leading-edge dimmers. The manufacturer states an L90 module life of over 52,600 hours and a driver life of 50,000 hours.

Mounting and connection

The fitting is screwed to the wall with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 45 × 130 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow loop-through to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), so a row of lights on a facade can run on one cable from fitting to fitting. The gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Protection class I means an earth conductor must be connected. Installation should be done by a qualified electrician.

Build and use

The body is cast aluminium, the lenses optical safety glass, the gasket silicone and the cable gland EPDM. IP65 allows it on an unsheltered wall exposed to rain and dust, and the IK08 impact rating protects it against accidental knocks. The plain block without ornament suits modern architecture and recedes into a light facade when switched off. It fits building facades, balconies, gardens and the frontages of hotels and restaurants.
