The Norlys Lillehammer 1581CB is a box-shaped outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated copper brown. It lights upwards and downwards at the same time, each beam leaving at a 60° angle through a shade of optical safety glass. Two LED modules are built in, so there are no bulbs to buy.
Size and fixing
The body is 18.5 cm high and 8 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall – a figure to compare with the free space beside a door, a window or a corner of the facade. It is screwed on through two ø5 mm holes (spacing 45 × 130 mm). The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², the round-sheathed cable should be 7–10.5 mm in diameter, the cable gland is EPDM and a silicone gasket seals the glass.
The terminals allow looping through to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), so several lights on one wall run on a single cable. Protection class I means an earth conductor must be connected. IP65 lets it go on a wall with no canopy, and impact resistance is IK08.
What light it gives
Drawing 7.3 W, the fitting delivers 229 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. Half of the output goes upwards (ULOR 50%), so it paints two fans of light on the wall above and below the fitting – decorative facade lighting rather than a lamp for lighting a whole yard. Colour rendering is CRI 80 and the light source's energy class is C.
It can be dimmed, but only with a trailing-edge phase dimmer. Norlys rates the LED modules at L80 above 102,000 hours and L90 above 52,600 hours, and the driver at 50,000 hours.
Where it fits
Norlys intends the Lillehammer for lighting walls and facades and picking out architectural details. The plain, unornamented body suits modern architecture, and the copper-brown finish sits well on warm-toned render, timber and brick.
