NORA 2472 is a flat outdoor wall light measuring 13 × 13 cm and 5 cm deep, with a cast aluminium body powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. Light leaves through clear safety glass upwards and downwards, drawing two beams on the wall above and below the fitting.
How much light it gives
Two integrated LED modules draw 15.3 W together, and 1170 lm leave the fitting. At 4000 K the light is neutral white, and CRI 80 renders the colours of render and cladding faithfully. Half of the output goes upwards (ULOR 50%), so the light picks out the plane of the façade rather than only the space below it.
The fitting is controlled over DALI-2: dimming and switching are done by a DALI controller, and an ordinary phase-cut dimmer will not drive it. Norlys gives an L90 lifetime of over 52,600 h, the hours before output falls below 90%, and a driver lifetime of 100,000 h. The LED modules and control gear are replaced by a professional service, and Norlys lists a service kit for them.
Installation and wiring
The wall light is fixed at two points through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm. The five-pole terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and let you loop the supply and the DALI line on to the next fitting with up to 5 × 1.5 mm², so a row of these along a façade runs on one cable. The round-sheathed cable should be ø7–10.5 mm.
On a longer run the inrush current matters: 6.7 A for 2.4 µs. Norlys states how many fittings one circuit breaker can carry: 46 on B 10 A, 74 on B 16 A, 74 on C 10 A and 119 on C 16 A. The luminaire is protection class I and needs a protective earth conductor.
Where it fits
IP65 allows mounting on an uncovered wall, and the IK09 impact rating protects the glass by entrances and walkways. Norlys intends it for lighting walls and façades, including in a row along the whole length of a building. The fitting weighs 0.85 kg.
