Norlys Oppland 5123GR graphite LED bollard light, 8.2 W 4000 K, 85 cm

Oppland 5123GR is a bollard light 85 cm tall and 12 cm in diameter: a plain cylinder of cast aluminium, powder-coated in graphite RAL 7016. The top is cut at an angle, and the recess holds a diffuser of clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. Norlys intends it for lighting private grounds and the surroundings of buildings.

How much light it gives, and what kind

The integrated LED module draws 8.2 W and the luminaire puts out 313 lm. That is orientation light: it marks the edge of a path, steps or an entrance, but it will not light a whole driveway. The light is directed downwards in a hemisphere, and the manufacturer states a ULOR of 0%, so none of the output goes up into the sky.

4000 K is neutral white with no yellow tint, CRI 80 renders paving and plant colours correctly, and SDCM3 means several bollards in a row shine in the same shade of white. The luminaire can be dimmed with a trailing-edge or leading-edge phase dimmer.

Installation and wiring

The bollard is fixed with three bolts through ø9 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. Anchoring parts are not included: Norlys sells the concrete-in anchor 205, the ground anchor 206, the concrete-foundation adapter 206S and the mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086 separately, and the right one depends on the ground.

The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm² and allow looping the supply on to the next luminaire, and the gland accepts a round cable of 4–8, 8–12 or 10–13.6 mm in diameter. The manufacturer allows up to 31 of these luminaires on one B10A circuit breaker. Protection class II means no protective earth conductor is needed. Installation should be done by a qualified electrician.

Durability and service

IP65 protects the inside against dust and water jets, and IK09 against impacts of 10 J. The manufacturer states an LED module lifetime of L80 over 102,000 hours and 50,000 hours for the driver. Neither the module nor the driver is replaced by the user: a professional service does it, and Norlys supplies the ZS5123 service kit for that. The bollard weighs 5 kg.
