The Rena 1553ST is an outdoor recessed ground light from Norlys with a square stainless-steel front and a clear safety-glass cover. It is set into the paving so that only the flat front sits above the surface, and it shines upward.
Light source and sealing
The fitting has a GU10 lampholder for a PAR16 LED lamp of up to 6 W. No lamp is included — it takes a lamp 51 mm across and up to 57 mm long, so the colour and brightness of the light come down to the lamp you choose. Norlys sells a GU10 LED lamp for it separately.
IP68 (1 m) protection means the fitting withstands immersion, so it can sit where water collects after rain. The IK09 impact rating and the 2000 kg permissible load are given by the manufacturer for the fitting once it is set into the ground.
Installation and connection
The front is fixed with three screws through Ø4.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a 100 mm circle — either into the supplied housing box, set in concrete as the manual describes, or into a hole prepared in timber such as deck boards (the manual gives a Ø110 mm hole).
A 3 m H05RN-F 3G1 cable comes factory-fitted and is joined to the supply inside a sealed junction box. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor, and the cable runs through a protective conduit in the ground. Further accessories — 3-way and 8-way hermetic boxes, a ground mounting module, a cable cover and expanded clay for drainage — are sold separately by Norlys.
Construction
The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, the front is stainless steel and the cover is safety glass. A silicone gasket seals it, and the cable enters through a nickel-plated brass gland. The square front suits block and slab paving, and the light fits garden paths, outdoor steps, terraces and driveways.
