Sandvik 1731 is a NORLYS outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular block, cast in aluminium and powder-coated white (RAL 9003). It lights upwards and downwards at the same time through two windows of clear safety glass, and the two LED GU10 lamps are included.
Size and mounting
The luminaire is 21 cm high, 8 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall. It weighs 1.53 kg. It is screwed on through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 37 × 97.5 mm, and for mounting on a building corner Norlys sells the 148XX0009 corner bracket separately.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and further luminaires can be fed onwards with up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several wall lights on one facade connect into a single circuit. An EPDM gland seals a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The wall light is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth conductor.
What light it gives
Inside are two Philips MASTER LED ExpertColor GU10 lamps of 3.9 W each, 7.8 W in total, with a 25° beam. The narrow beams draw two stripes on the wall, above and below the luminaire, and ULOR 50% means half of the light goes upwards. The luminaire delivers 420 lm, so it is accent lighting for a facade and entrance rather than for a whole driveway.
At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellow, and CRI 90 renders the colour of render, brick or wood faithfully. The luminaire can be dimmed with a phase-cut dimmer of either trailing-edge or leading-edge type. The GU10 lamps are replaced by the user; the manufacturer rates them at over 40,000 h (L70).
Durability and use
IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, so the wall light can hang on an exposed wall, and IK08 gives impact resistance. Norlys intends it for private grounds and public areas: on the facade of a house, at an entrance and in the garden, as well as at hotels and restaurants.
