Sol 4045AL is a round outdoor ceiling light 20 cm across and 11 cm deep, made from extruded aluminium profile powder coated in aluminium RAL 9006. Satin safety glass set in a dark ring closes it from below, and the light leaves through it diffused.
How it is fixed
The fitting screws up through two ø5 mm holes spaced 100 mm apart — straight onto a ceiling, a soffit or a terrace slab. The terminals take conductors up to 3 x 2.5 mm², and looping further fittings along one run up to 1.5 mm². The gland accepts a round cable from 7 to 10.5 mm in diameter. The fitting weighs 2.65 kg.
How much light it gives and how it throws it
The fitting draws 19.3 W and puts out 1633 lm. The LED module itself makes 2200 lm, with glass and optics holding back the difference — a brightness comparable to an old 100 W bulb, enough to light an entrance or part of a terrace rather than merely mark the spot.
The light is symmetrical and aimed downwards, and the upward light ratio is 0.3 per cent, so the fitting does not wash the eaves above it. 3000 K is warm white, colour rendering is Ra 80, and SDCM3 colour consistency means several fittings along one soffit light up in the same shade.
Dimming, sealing and service
The fitting phase-dims on TRIAC and works with a dimmer on the trailing edge (TE) as well as the leading edge (LE) — less common than TE alone, and it widens the choice of dimmer. Supply is 220-240 V and the power factor is 0.96.
IP65 and IK06 impact resistance are meant for mounting in the open; a silicone gasket and an EPDM gland close the housing. The LED module and the driver can both be replaced, but the manufacturer reserves that to a professional and offers service sets ZS4043ZX0009 and ZS4046ZX0009 for them. Norlys describes this fitting as intended for lighting gardens, private grounds and architectural projects.
