The Nowodvorski NOOK 7976 is an outdoor ceiling light 18 cm across: a black ABS ring, a gold reflector inside and a clear polycarbonate dome through which the bulb is visible. Overall height is 15.5 cm.

How big it is and how it goes up

The fitting is 18 cm wide and 15.5 cm high — shallow enough for a covered entrance canopy or a balcony ceiling, where there is little room overhead. It weighs 0.34 kg, or 0.45 kg in its 18.5 × 18.5 × 16 cm carton.

The manufacturer specifies direct mounting: the base screws straight to the ceiling or the wall, with no flush box and no cut-out. It is a class II fitting, so no earth conductor is needed. The box holds the fitting plus the user and installation instructions.

E27, but LED lamps only, up to 10 W

The fitting takes one E27 lamp and none is supplied. The manufacturer caps it at 10 W and restricts it explicitly to LED — a halogen or filament lamp of the same rating gives off more heat, and a sealed polycarbonate dome gives that heat nowhere to go. Ten watts of LED is around 1000 lm, roughly the brightness of an old 75 W bulb.

The fitting has a built-in anti-theft catch for the lamp: without a tool it cannot be unscrewed. That matters where more people have access than the household — a stairwell, a passage, the entrance to a block of flats.

Outdoors: IP44 and IK09

IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, which points to covered positions: a terrace, an arcade, a gazebo, a balcony ceiling. It is not intended for an unsheltered mounting where rain falls directly on it.

The IK09 rating is impact resistance at 10 J — a figure makers of indoor fittings usually leave out, and one that counts where a fitting hangs low enough to be knocked by accident.

Build

The body is ABS and the dome polycarbonate. The reflector is finished in gold inside, which under a clear cover is the only element visible from outside besides the black ring. The fitting is made in Poland, in Częstochowa.
