Rovato is a small recessed fitting for outdoor use. A square aluminium face plate in a sandblasted black finish hides an oval aperture with the LED set deep inside – you never see the source directly, only the light running down the wall. This is a fixture for marking a route, not for lighting a space.
The light
The built-in LED module draws 3 W and gives 85 lm at a warm 3000 K. That is deliberately modest: enough to mark a step, a terrace edge or the line of a path without dazzling anyone walking towards it. The diode is integrated and not replaceable, and the fitting is not dimmable. This version is 3000 K; Italux makes the same model in neutral white as ONFL-0224-4K.
Installation
The fitting needs a ø5.7 cm mounting hole – in a back box, in masonry, in a fence post or in a terrace wall. The whole body sits inside the wall and only the flat 7 × 6.5 cm plate stays visible. Supply is wide-range, 100–240 V.
Durability
IP65 means it is fully dust-tight and resists water jets, so rain and a pressure wash of the façade are both within its remit. The aluminium housing in sandblasted black does not corrode and does not bounce daylight back. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
Where it works
Rovato belongs on outdoor stairs, retaining walls, gate and fence posts, driveway walls and terrace edges. Several units at even spacing give a legible rhythm of light along a route.
