Zambelis E279 garden spike in dark brown

E279 is an outdoor LED spike light from the Greek manufacturer Zambelis Lights. A slim dark-brown aluminium stem finishes in a shepherd-hook bend and a small cylindrical head aimed downward. Light leaves the fitting through tempered glass on the underside of the head. Official overall dimensions are 20 cm long, 4.5 cm wide and 60 cm high, so the body sits among plants instead of blocking a border. A ground spike and a 40 cm cable are included.

Warm 3000 K in a 40° cone

The built-in 6 W LED runs on 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz. It delivers 3000 K, 500 lm, a 40° beam and CRI 80. That narrow cone is meant for a path, a shrub or a single detail, not for flooding an entire garden. The luminaire is not dimmable. The datasheet states L70B50 30 000 h, energy class G and 6 kWh/1000 h. Supply current is 700 mA. Safety class I requires an earth connection: live, neutral and protective conductors meet in the terminal block.

Pushing the spike into soil

Work with the supply isolated and have a qualified electrician carry out the connection. The spike screws onto the body; after wiring, the fitting is pushed into the ground. IP65 covers dust and water jets, IK04 covers light impacts. Do not cover the head. Manufacturer warranty is 3 years and packed gross weight is 0.8 kg. E279 is not an indoor floor lamp and not a bollard with a wide glow; it is a directional garden spot.

Planting beds, paths and hospitality gardens

Use it in planting, along paths, beside a terrace, gazebo or fence. In a park, hotel courtyard or restaurant garden it can lead the eye along a walk or pick out chosen plants. Five hundred lumens and forty degrees will not light a driveway or wash a façade. A run of several pieces at even spacing gives a quiet accent without a concrete foundation.

A spare modern outline

Bare tube, dark-brown paint and a plain cylinder read as contemporary and minimal. The hook remains readable by day; after dusk a warm cone drops from the head. The finish sits comfortably with gravel, bark and dark foliage and does not compete with the house. It is a landscape tool that should be noticed as a line of light rather than as sculpture.
