The Nora 2470 is a flat square facade wall light from NORLYS, 13 cm on a side with a projection of just 5 cm. It emits on two sides - up and down - through clear safety-glass panes, drawing two symmetrical, soft cones of light on the wall. The 2470CS version is finished in a Corten Steel shade (approx. RAL 8011), a warm rust brown that works with timber, engineering brick and mineral render.
Light output
Two LED modules draw a combined 15.3 W and deliver 1103 lm, an efficacy of 72.1 lm/W. At 3000 K the light is warm and soft, colour rendering is 80 and colour consistency falls within three MacAdam ellipses (SDCM3) - several fittings in a row along a facade will match each other with no visible drift. The ULOR figure of 50% means exactly half the flux goes up and half goes down; for a 2.5 m mounting height NORLYS plots illuminance across more than ten metres of wall. Flicker is low: Pst LM does not exceed 1 and the stroboscopic effect SVM stays at 0.4.
DALI2 control
The Nora 2470 is a system fitting: the built-in driver speaks DALI2 as well as TD control, so it can be dimmed and folded into lighting scenes with the rest of the installation rather than left on a plain switch. The terminals accept up to 5 x 2.5 mm² and the manufacturer explicitly allows looping fittings through with 5 x 1.5 mm² - a significant simplification when wiring a run of wall lights along a long facade. Inrush current is 6.7 A over 2.4 µs, which allows up to 74 fittings on a single B16A breaker (B10A - 46, C10A - 74, C16A - 119).
Build and resistance
The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, the cover is safety glass and the joint is sealed with a silicone gasket. The fitting is rated IP65 - fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets - and IK09 for impact, a level that withstands a 10 J blow, which matters where the fitting is within public reach. The operating range runs from -20 to +45°C. Installation note: this is a class I fitting and requires a protective earth conductor; installation and servicing are jobs for a qualified person.
Lifetime and service
NORLYS rates the LED modules at over 52,330 hours to L90B10 - the strictest of the common standards, meaning 90% of initial flux retained with no more than 10% of samples below that. Under the looser L80B20 the figure is over 107,920 hours, and the driver itself is rated at 100,000 hours. Both the LED module and the control gear can be replaced by a professional, and the manufacturer offers a dedicated service set under part number ZN2470XX0009. Condensation inside an outdoor luminaire is a natural phenomenon and is not a fault.
Installation and variants
The fitting is fixed with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 x 112 mm. The 2470 family runs to eight finishes: aluminium (9006), black (9005), cement grey (7033), copper brown (8004), Corten Steel (approx. 8011), graphite (7016), grey beige (7006) and white (9003); other colours are made to order against the NORLYS Colors Template. The same Nora series also includes the smaller 2464 at 10.3 W and 793 lm.
