Outdoor wall light NORLYS Lillehammer 1584CS corten steel colour LED 4 W 3000 K

Lillehammer 1584CS is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular block of cast aluminium, powder-coated in a corten steel colour, a rusty brown. It lights downwards only, in a very narrow 4° beam, through a cover of optical safety glass.

What light it gives

The narrow optic gathers the light into a thin ray that draws a crisp, slender line on the wall below the fitting. The manufacturer states a luminaire flux of 15 lm from a module rated at 504 lm. The low figure comes from the very tight beam, so the Lillehammer 1584 is for accenting a facade, not for lighting a path or an entrance. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 renders plaster, brick and timber accurately by outdoor-lighting standards.

All of the light goes downwards (ULOR 0%, BUG rating B0-U0-G0), so the fitting does not brighten the sky or throw light up towards the windows of the floors above.

Light source and dimming

The LED module and the Philips Xitanium electronic driver are built in, so there is no bulb to buy. The fitting draws 4 W. The LED module is replaced by a qualified service – the manufacturer offers the ZS1584zx0017 service kit for this – while the driver can be swapped by the user. The manufacturer rates the module at over 52,600 h to L90 and over 102,000 h to L80, and the driver at 50,000 h.

The fitting is dimmable, but it needs a phase dimmer working in trailing-edge (TE) mode.

Installation and protection

The body is 18.5 cm tall with an 11 × 8 cm cross-section and weighs 1.57 kg. It fixes through two ø5 mm holes spaced 45 × 130 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², fittings can be looped through with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², and the gland seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is a Class I luminaire, so the protective earth must be connected.

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so the light can hang on a wall with no canopy above it. Impact resistance is IK08.

Where it fits

The plain, minimalist block without decoration suits modern architecture. The manufacturer intends the fitting for lighting walls, facades and other architectural features – on the front of a house, by a terrace or on a balcony.
