Vasa 456AL is an outdoor wall light shaped like a half-cylinder: the flat back sits against the wall, and the curved body of cast aluminium is powder-coated in light grey (RAL 9006). A clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser runs along its edge. The fitting has an integrated 3000 K LED module and DALI-2 control.
Size and mounting on the facade
The light is 31 cm wide and 12.5 cm high and projects 15.5 cm from the wall — figures worth comparing with the space beside a door or between windows. It weighs 2.27 kg. It can be screwed on directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart, or through an intermediate plate with two 5×10 mm adjustment slots 45 mm apart, which let you level the fitting after the holes are drilled.
The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and looping through to the next fitting up to 3×1.5 mm²; the gland seals a round-sheathed cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is a protection class I luminaire, so it needs an earth connection. The manufacturer specifies installation and servicing by a qualified electrician.
Light and control
Drawing 12.8 W, the fitting delivers 939 lm — slightly more than an old 60 W bulb, which gave about 800 lm. A 3000 K colour temperature is warm white, and CRI 80 renders plaster and timber without obvious distortion.
The driver is controlled over DALI-2: the light can be dimmed and switched in groups from a DALI controller, but it will not work with an ordinary phase dimmer. When installing several, note the 20 A inrush current — the manufacturer allows, for example, 30 fittings on one B16 circuit breaker.
Build and service life
IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it can hang on a wall without any canopy. The IK08 rating protects the diffuser against the knocks a light by the front door is exposed to. The manufacturer quotes an LED life of over 102,000 h (L80) and 100,000 h for the driver, and the LED module and driver are replaceable by a service technician — spare kit ZS456zx0009 is available, so a failed light source does not mean replacing the whole fitting.
