Voss 5036AL is a box-shaped outdoor wall light in powder-coated cast aluminium, finished in light grey (RAL 9006). It shines upwards only, through a clear safety-glass window, and has two built-in LED modules with their driver, so there are no bulbs to buy.
Size and mounting
According to the manufacturer's drawing the light is 18 cm high and 16 cm wide but projects a full 27 cm from the wall, and weighs 4.56 kg. It stands well proud of the facade, so check there is room for it beside a door or window. It is fixed through two ø7 mm holes on a 100×80 mm pattern.
The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and the cable gland seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The light can be looped through (up to 3×1.5 mm²), so several lights on one wall run on a single supply cable. It is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth, and the manufacturer specifies installation by a suitably qualified person.
How it lights
Light leaves on one side only, upwards, in a 62° beam. The manufacturer gives ULOR 100% and a BUG rating of B0-U5-G0, meaning all of the output goes above the fitting: it washes the wall above it rather than a path or steps below. Norlys intends it for lighting walls and facades, where an upward beam brings out the texture and height of the masonry.
The luminaire draws 10.5 W, 4000 K is neutral white, and CRI 80 is standard colour rendering. It can be dimmed with a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer.
Weather resistance and service life
IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction. The glass sits on a silicone gasket and the cable enters through an EPDM gland. The manufacturer rates the LED modules at L80 over 102,000 h – after that they still deliver 80% of their initial output – and the driver at 50,000 h.
