Voss 1953 Outdoor Wall Light Graphite RAL 7016 - NORLYS

Voss 1953 is a Norlys outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular block of cast aluminium, powder-coated in graphite RAL 7016, a dark anthracite grey. Light leaves through one side only, via a panel of clear safety glass. The body is 18 cm high and 16 cm wide and projects 27 cm from the wall.

What light Voss 1953 gives

The manufacturer describes the distribution as one-sided light at a 4° angle, directed upwards. The fitting therefore draws a single narrow vertical stripe on the facade above itself and lights nothing below it: the ULOR value is 100% and the BUG rating B0-U3-G0 confirms that the entire output goes up. This is a light for picking out architecture, such as pilasters, building corners or strips of wall between windows. It is not meant for lighting an entrance, steps or a path.

The narrow optic holds back most of the light: the LED module produces 722 lm and 28 lm leaves the fitting at 5.4 W. 3000 K is warm white, and colour rendering of Ra 80 with SDCM3 colour consistency means several fittings on one wall shine in the same tone.

Mounting and wiring

The wall light weighs 4.57 kg and is screwed to the wall through two ø7 mm holes spaced 100 × 80 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and fittings can be looped through with up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so a row of several units along a facade runs from one supply line. The gland takes round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The fitting is protection class I, so the circuit needs a protective earth conductor.

Power, dimming and outdoor use

The LED module and electronic driver are built in, so no lamp has to be bought, and the manufacturer rates the driver at 50,000 h. It dims by phase cut on the trailing edge (TE): a dimmer working in that mode is required, and the manufacturer names Philips Xitanium TE control.

The body is sealed with a silicone gasket and an EPDM gland. IP54 means protection against dust and water splashed from any direction, so the light can work on an exposed building wall, and IK06 stands for resistance to a 1 J impact. The plain, smooth body without decoration suits the facades of houses, hotels and restaurants.
