PLONS is a table lamp built from a single bent line. A brass tube traces an asymmetric closed loop 39 cm wide and 24.5 cm tall, and a glowing silicone strip runs along its inner edge. There is no shade and no bulb — the drawing itself is what lights.
Eleven centimetres deep
At 39 cm wide the lamp occupies a band only 11 cm deep on a surface. That is the most practical property of this form: it fits on a narrow hall console, a bookshelf, a windowsill or a chest of drawers where a round lamp of similar size would not fit at all. It weighs 0.8 kg, so it is easy to move — worth noting only that on a piece this light an in-line cord switch is more convenient than a button on the body, because you do not have to hold the lamp steady.
760 lm — mood light, not reading light
Those 12 W return 760 lm, about 63 lm/W, and hence energy class G. The silicone diffuser absorbs the difference, turning point-source diodes into a single soft line of light — which is precisely the effect you are paying for. But it is worth knowing what you are buying: 760 lm spread along the whole arc across a 180° angle gives a diffuse glow, not concentrated light to work by. Reading beside an armchair will need a second lamp; PLONS sets a mood and draws a lit accent on the wall behind it.
Brass and 3000 K work together
The 3000 K colour is warm, and the brass finish reflects and deepens it — light and material reinforce each other rather than fight. The silicone diffuser is white and matt, so the lit edge reads as one continuous line with no visible points. Colour rendering is CRI 80 — enough for an interior to look natural, though it is not the figure anyone chooses this lamp for.
Built-in source, no dimming
The diode is integrated into the fitting and included — there is no bulb to buy or to change, and when its life ends the whole lamp is replaced. The manufacturer declares 50,000 hours. The fitting is not dimmable, so brightness is fixed; control comes down to the cord switch. Protection class II means double insulation — the plug needs no earth pin.
Pairs with the ceiling fitting
PLONS also exists in the same series as a ceiling luminaire, MOD283CL-L34BS3K (34 W), in the same asymmetric form and the same brass finish. Combining the two in one room gives a coherent motif at two levels — something you cannot achieve by choosing a table lamp on its own. The IP20 rating places both in dry interiors.
