The small Lasalle is an outdoor wall light in the form of a lantern, designed by the American brand Quoizel and distributed by Quintiesse, part of the Elstead group. The aluminium body has a dark Western Bronze finish, and the clear glass shade is shaped like a jar, hanging beneath a round canopy from a curved arm that springs from a rectangular wall plate.
Dimensions and where to mount it
The wall light is 29.6 cm high and 17.8 cm wide, and it projects 20.3 cm from the wall — the space it will take up beside a front door or on a wall next to a terrace. It weighs 1.7 kg. The manufacturer designates it for exterior use, and the IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, so it can hang on a facade without extra cover.
The fitting is hard-wired to a 220–240 V supply — it has no plug. It arrives in a 27 × 24 × 43 cm box weighing 2.3 kg.
Bulb and light
Inside there is one E27 socket that takes a bulb of up to 60 W. No bulb is included. The clear glass does not diffuse the light, so the bulb stays fully visible — the manufacturer's photos show a decorative Edison-style bulb with a visible filament, which suits the lantern's character. An ordinary LED bulb with the same cap can be used as well.
The wall light can be dimmed if you fit a dimmable bulb and a suitable dimmer.
Style
The manufacturer describes Lasalle as a fresh take on classic country design: the jar-shaped glass, a bail recalling the handle of an old lantern and the dark bronze suit houses with timber or brick facades and gardens with a rustic character.
