Sandvik 1732AL is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular box of cast aluminium, powder-coated in aluminium colour (RAL 9006). It shines up and down at the same time, through round windows of clear safety glass in its top and bottom faces. The manufacturer intends it for private grounds as well as public areas — by an entrance, on a facade or on a balcony.
Size and installation
The light is 21 cm high and 8 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall; it weighs 1.45 kg. It fixes with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes spaced 37 × 97.5 mm. A cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter enters through an EPDM gland, and the terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the next fitting to be fed on (loop-through up to 3 × 1.5 mm²) — several lights on one facade can run from a single circuit. For mounting on a building corner the manufacturer offers the separately sold corner bracket 148XX0009. It is protection class I and needs an earth conductor.
What light it gives
Two integrated 8 W LED modules deliver 1126 lm together at 3000 K, a warm white. The light leaves in two narrow 36° beams — half upwards, half downwards — so it draws two bright stripes on the wall above and below the fitting rather than an even pool. The colour rendering index is Ra 80.
It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer; the manufacturer specifies both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming, so it works with either dimmer type.
Lifetime and service
The manufacturer rates the modules at over 59,000 h (L70). The light source is not changed by the user, but the LED module can be replaced by a service technician — Norlys lists it as a spare part (4699102301) alongside the ZS1732zx0009 service kit. The housing is rated IP65 and IK08 for impact, and the glass is sealed with a silicone gasket.
