The CTLS RECESSED POWER STRAIGHT CONNECTOR 8685 is a black straight joiner for Nowodvorski's recessed CTLS (Commercial Track Light System). It joins two track sections in a straight line and carries power on to the next one: the word POWER sets it apart from the dead end cap, which passes no current. It does not bring mains in from the installation; a separate feed part in the same series does that.
Dimensions and space on the track
The joiner is 16.6 cm long and 5.6 cm wide. On each side 3.4 cm slides into the track, leaving a visible body 9.9 cm long between the ends of the two sections. No fitting can be mounted on that stretch, so allow for it when spacing spotlights along the run.
Electrical ratings
The manufacturer rates it for up to 16 A, or 3.7 kVA, at ~220–230 V, 50/60 Hz. It is protection class I and carries the protective earth through as well, so the run stays earthed along its full length. It is for indoor use only.
Build and what is in the box
The body is black plastic and the contacts are copper. The box holds the joiner alone, which weighs 0.095 kg. The same joiner is also made in white under a separate code, so the colour is chosen to match the track.
