Table Lamp Nordlux ELLEN MINI E14 40W Metal Yellow

ELLEN MINI is a small metal table lamp in a pastel shade of yellow. The domed shade sits on a slim tube set into a flat round base, and the clear cable leaves it just above the tabletop. It is the shortened version of the Ellen — the whole lamp stands 25 cm tall.

How much room it needs

The base is 10 cm across, so the lamp fits a narrow window ledge, a shelf or the corner of a bedside table. The shade is wider at 16 cm, and it is the shade that decides how much clear space is actually needed — that is the measurement to take, not the footprint.

At 25 cm the shade sits roughly at the shoulder height of someone sitting beside a bedside table. The lamp weighs 0.65 kg, light enough that a tug on the cable will move it.

What kind of light it gives

The shade is opaque metal and closed at the top, so all of the light goes downwards onto the surface below rather than up to the ceiling. That distribution lights the area directly beneath and leaves the rest of the room dim.

The holder takes one E14 lamp rated up to 40 W. No lamp is included and the fitting cannot be dimmed, so brightness is decided once, when you choose the lamp. For a bedside lamp, roughly 250–400 lm at 2700 K is usually enough.

Cable, switch and supply

The cable is 150 cm long, clear and plastic-sheathed — on pale furniture it shows less than a black one. The switch sits on the cable, so the lamp is turned off by hand without reaching under the shade and without a wall-switched socket.

The manufacturer states that the cable is not replaceable: damage to it means a repair rather than a new flex. The lamp is double insulated (class II), so it does not need an earthed socket.

Finish and colour

Body, shade and base are all metal, painted in one muted yellow (colour code 13-0725 TPG) — closer to butter than to lemon. Nordlux makes ELLEN MINI in eleven colours, so the same outline can be combined in several shades or matched to a floor lamp from the same family.
