Align DFTP E27 25W Metal Chrome Table Lamp

Align in chrome is a Design For The People table lamp designed by Maria Berntsen. Its tapered base supports two overlapping metal shades. The inner shade stays fixed while the outer shade can be repositioned, making the shade mechanism an integral part of the lamp's geometric silhouette.

Adjusting the shade, not the brightness

Moving the outer shade changes how much of the inner section is exposed and how light leaves the lamp. This is a physical adjustment rather than an electronic dimming control. The manufacturer specifies this model as non-dimmable. An on/off switch sits on the cable, so leave that section accessible when choosing where to place the lamp.

A single E27 socket takes a separately purchased bulb with a maximum rating of 25 W. That figure is the permitted bulb wattage, not a fixed electricity consumption for the lamp regardless of the bulb fitted. Brightness and colour temperature depend on your chosen light source. This chrome version does not therefore have a fixed warm-white or cool-white output of its own.

Check the shade footprint as well as the base

The lamp measures 33.5 cm high and 23 cm in both width and length. Its shade is 22 cm in diameter, while the base diameter is 10.8 cm. When measuring a bedside table, side table or cabinet top, allow for the shade's full outline rather than just the smaller base. The movable outer section also needs clearance for adjustment.

The black textile-covered cable is 250 cm long. Compare that length with the planned route to your socket and consider where the switch will sit. Align is a mains-powered lamp, not a cordless or USB model, and the manufacturer states that its cable is not replaceable.

A chrome finish with a restrained outline

Metal is the primary material, with plastic as the secondary material. Reflective chrome, a tapering support and rounded shades give the lamp a modern, minimalist character. It can provide supplementary table lighting in a living room, bedroom or study, without implying that it will illuminate the whole room. This version is intended for indoor use, not a terrace or garden.
