The Hollow Zigzag M is a brass candle holder shaped as a cylinder: 10 cm across, 15 cm tall, open at the top. The whole wall is pierced — interlocking zigzags forming a dense, repeating lattice. The manufacturer gives the colour as gold and the material as brass.
What the pierced wall does
The candle stands inside the cylinder and brass is opaque, so sideways the light escapes only through the cut-outs. Instead of an even glow, the drawing of that same pattern appears on the tabletop and on the wall behind the holder. The top is open, so the flame shines upwards unobstructed and the candle goes in and out from above.
The pattern runs all the way around the wall, so the holder looks the same from every side and has no back that would need to face the wall.
Size, weight and what fits inside
The base fits within a 10 × 10 cm square and the height is 15 cm — both numbers are worth comparing with the shelf or the stretch of worktop you mean to give it. At that height the holder does not block the people sitting on the other side of a dining table. A candle placed inside has to be narrower than the cylinder itself.
The whole piece weighs 140 g, so moving it aside while laying the table or during cleaning takes one hand.
Brass, handwork and where it belongs
The body is made of solid brass. The manufacturer notes that individual pieces differ from one another in tone and surface texture — a consequence of handwork, so two ordered as a pair will not be identical.
In the manufacturer's own catalogue the item sits among tea light holders, and the intended use is indoors. It is made in India.
