Thoro NELYA L LED Chandelier White Square 110 cm 4000K

NELYA L is an LED chandelier in the form of a flat square frame, 110 cm per side, made of white aluminium. The frame hangs horizontally from four thin cables anchored above its corners, and power reaches it through a separate transparent cable from a ceiling box.

Size and installation

The frame covers an area of 110 × 110 cm — a size worth comparing with the width of your table or the part of the room it is meant to hang over. The overall height including the suspension is 150 cm, and the suspension length is adjustable, so the frame can be raised closer to the ceiling in a lower room.

According to the manufacturer's instructions, each of the four cables is anchored to the ceiling separately above the corners of the frame, and the box with the power supply, where the mains wires are connected, is screwed on beside them. The ceiling therefore has to take five fixings spread over roughly 110 × 110 cm. The fitting is protection class I and the power supply's terminal block has an earth terminal, so the installation must be earthed and the connection is a job for an electrician. The chandelier weighs 3.8 kg.

What light it gives

The light source is an integrated LED module that comes fitted in the frame, so there are no bulbs to buy. The manufacturer states a luminous flux of 8096 lm — several times the roughly 1500 lm at which main room lighting begins. 4000 K is neutral white light without a yellow cast.

A colour rendering index of CRI 98 means the colours of furniture, fabrics and food look almost as they do in daylight. The light comes from the whole perimeter of the frame, so it spreads widely through the room instead of falling on one spot. Thoro makes the fitting in Poland and gives a 5-year warranty on the LED module.

Which rooms it suits

The manufacturer intends NELYA for the bedroom, living room and dining room. The form is modern and minimalist: a thin square profile without ornament, plain white and an almost invisible suspension. The NELYA collection also includes a smaller size M with 80 cm sides, and black and gold versions, each in 3000 K or 4000 K.
