V-TAC VT-8125 outdoor wall light LED 24 W 4000K up-down IP65 grey 2720 lm

VT-8125 is a rectangular façade fitting from V-TAC measuring 200 × 100 × 100 mm that lights upward and downward at the same time through two apertures in the top and bottom faces. The body is aluminium in grey, rated IP65.

What up-down lighting actually does

The fitting does not light the ground — it draws the wall. Each aperture throws a 120° cone that spreads across render, brick or concrete as two symmetrical fans. The effect grows with the texture of the wall: on smooth pale render the patches stay soft, on a rough surface they turn graphic. This is a fitting for façades, gate piers, chimneys and terrace walls, not for lighting a path.

How much light

2720 lumens from 24 W is 113 lm/W — high for an outdoor fitting in this class. At 4000 K the colour is neutral: it does not yellow the façade the way 3000 K does, nor give the cold office tone of 6000 K, which suits grey render and timber alike. A colour rendering index above 80 is ample for a façade; the energy class is E.

Working outdoors

IP65 means fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets — heavy rain and washing the façade are no issue. The manufacturer states a −20 to +45 °C operating range and more than 15,000 on/off cycles, which matters in practice if the fitting is to run from a motion sensor: that kind of control burns through cycles far faster than a plain switch. Start-up is instant (0.001 s), with no ramp.

Before you buy

The light source is permanently integrated, so when the diodes reach end of life the whole fitting is replaced — declared life is 20,000 hours, about 18 years at three hours a day. The fitting is not dimmable: V-TAC's EPREL entry declares no output control, so it should not be paired with a wall dimmer.
