RING LED M is a wall light shaped as a flat, closed disc 25 cm across, made of white painted steel. The disc stands 3 cm off the wall, and its face is solid: there is neither a shade nor an opening in it.
How much wall it takes
The circle is 25 cm across and stands 3 cm off the wall. That second figure decides where the fitting will go: at three centimetres it is in nobody's way in a narrow hallway or right beside a door frame.
Compare the 25 cm with whatever the light is meant to sit beside: the width of a headboard, of a mirror, or of the stretch of wall between a door and a corner. The fitting itself weighs 0.71 kg, and in its 25.5 by 25.5 by 3.5 cm carton it arrives at 0.81 kg.
How a closed disc gives light
The face is solid and made of opaque steel, so light leaves only through the gap between the rim and the wall. The fitting draws a glow around itself on the plaster and does not light the room: it is an accent on the wall rather than general lighting, so the room still needs a second lamp.
3000 K is a warm white close to the old incandescent bulb, and colour rendering above Ra 90 means wall colours and fabrics do not go grey in that glow. The LED module is built in permanently and is not replaced: the manufacturer rates it at 30,000 hours at a draw of 10 W.
Installation and build
The manufacturer specifies direct mounting: the fitting is screwed to the wall and wired permanently into a 220-230 V, 50/60 Hz supply. Protection class I means an earth conductor has to be present in the box, so the connection is an electrician's job rather than a plug.
The body is white painted steel, and the manufacturer intends the fitting for indoor use only. The lamp is made in Poland, in Czestochowa.
