WAVE 15131-55 is an LED ceiling light with a square steel-coloured base from which four wavy, illuminated arms extend. The arms cross above the base and together cover a 55 × 55 cm square on the ceiling. The fitting comes from the Neuhaus Lighting Group range.
Dimensions and mounting
The whole fitting measures 55 × 55 cm and projects only 9 cm from the ceiling, so it also suits rooms with a lower ceiling where a pendant would get in the way. The base that screws to the ceiling is 13 × 13 cm and 4 cm deep. Compare the 55 cm with the distance to walls and wardrobes, because the arms reach well beyond the base.
The fitting is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed to connect it. It runs on ordinary 230 V and weighs 0.514 kg.
How much light and what kind
The light comes from four built-in LED modules, one in each arm, so there are no bulbs to buy. 3000 K is warm white, similar to a traditional bulb but slightly brighter in feel.
The manufacturer states a measured power of 21 W and a measured luminaire output of 1450 lm. The modules total 2520 lm, but the arm covers hold part of it back, so 1450 lm is the figure to plan with. That is enough for the fitting to be the main light in a smaller room; a larger room will want a second light.
Build and style
The base and arms are metal and plastic, and the steel colour gives the fitting a cool, technical look. The wavy, unadorned line of the arms is a modern form that, when switched on, draws four bright, crossing lines on the ceiling.
