Zulo is a pendant light with three teardrop shades in amber glass, hung on black cables beneath a long black ceiling bar. Above each shade sits a brass-coloured metal lampholder sleeve. The tinted amber glass lets light through but gives it a warm, honey-coloured tone.
Size and where to hang it
The bar and the spread of the shades run to 77 cm, so the light covers a strip rather than a single spot — compare that length with the table or worktop it will hang over. The body with its shade is 32 cm tall, and the overall height from the ceiling to the bottom of the shades is 115 cm. Under a 260 cm ceiling the bottom of the shades therefore sits about 145 cm above the floor, roughly 70 cm above a 75 cm high table top.
Light sources
The fitting has three E27 sockets, each taking a bulb of up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included — the manufacturer allows both classic and LED bulbs, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself. The opening in the shade for the bulb is 6.5 cm across: a standard pear-shaped bulb passes through it, a large decorative globe does not.
The light can be dimmed, provided the bulbs are marked as dimmable and the circuit has a suitable dimmer.
What kind of interior
The manufacturer classes Zulo as a modern light: a straight bar, smooth cables and clear tinted glass without ornament. It is intended for the living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and study — best where the pendant hangs over a table, an island or a desk and has to light an elongated surface. The body is made of metal alloy and the shades of glass.
