Aluminium bollard light NORLYS BORG 6172AL LED 17.6 W 3000 K DALI2/NightDim

NORLYS BORG 6172AL is a 55 cm outdoor bollard with a broad circular head. Its body is cast aluminium with an Aluminium-colour powder-coated finish, while the satin PMMA diffuser softens the direct view of the LED module. This 6172AL version includes integrated DALI2 / NightDim control.

Dimensions and installation area

The bollard stands 55 cm high and its head measures 20 × 20 cm. This scale keeps the light low along a pedestrian route or a zone beside a building, without creating a tall lighting point. Catalogue applications cover gardens and other outdoor spaces as well as hotel and restaurant grounds. The BORG family was also developed for squares and urban pedestrian routes.

The fitting is secured in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Its terminals accept conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow loop-through wiring, which matters when several bollards are arranged in one line. Ground anchors, concrete anchors and a concrete-foundation adaptor are separate accessories.

How much light BORG 6172AL provides

The integrated LED module draws 17.6 W and delivers 1358 lm. A colour temperature of 3000 K gives warm white light, less yellow than a traditional incandescent lamp but softer than neutral 4000 K light. The manufacturer specifies an L70/B50 lifetime above 72,000 hours: after that period at least half of the modules retain no less than 70% of their initial output.

DALI2 enables the bollard to join an addressable lighting installation. NightDim provides programmed reduction of the light level during part of the night, when full output is not needed. It requires a suitably designed control system.

Resistance to outdoor conditions

An IP65 rating means the housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the bollard is intended for uncovered outdoor installation. IK10 confirms high impact resistance for the enclosure. The fitting has Class I electrical protection and must be connected to protective earth.

Materials and finish

Powder coating protects the cast aluminium and silicone gaskets seal the joints. The satin PMMA diffuser forms an even, opal surface around the head. NORLYS provides a five-year product warranty and states a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty under the conditions of its warranty programme.
