Asker Big 1300CG up-down outdoor wall light cement grey LED 8.3 W 3000 K NORLYS

Asker Big 1300CG is an outdoor wall light shaped as a horizontal cuboid, cast in aluminium and powder-coated in cement grey (RAL 7033). Light leaves through two clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate covers in the top and bottom faces, so the fitting draws a streak of light both up and down the wall.

Size and mounting

According to the manufacturer's drawing, the light is 30.2 cm wide and 12.5 cm tall, projects 12.1 cm from the wall and weighs 2.62 kg. It can be fixed through an intermediate plate with two 5 × 10 mm adjustment slots 45 mm apart, or directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart — the slots let you level the fitting after the wall has been drilled.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped on with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several lights on one façade can be daisy-chained. The gland accepts round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The light is protection class I and needs an earth conductor; according to the manufacturer, 157 of them fit on one B 10A circuit breaker.

Light and dimming

Two built-in Philips LED modules draw 8.3 W in total, and the fitting delivers 547 lm of 3000 K warm-white light at CRI 80. Split between up and down, that output highlights a stretch of façade by an entrance or a pillar rather than a whole driveway. SDCM3 means several lights on one wall glow in the same shade, and the low flicker (Pst ≤0.3) and stroboscopic-effect (SVM ≤0.7) figures mean the light has no visible pulsing.

It is phase-dimmable, but only with a trailing-edge dimmer — a leading-edge dimmer is not suitable. The same family includes version 1302, which lights downward only, and the more powerful 1306.

Build and servicing

A silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland seal the housing to IP65 — the light is dust-tight, withstands water jets and can hang without a canopy — and IK08 means increased impact resistance. The LED modules and driver are replaced by a professional service, and Norlys offers dedicated service kits for them. The manufacturer states an LED life of over 72,000 h (L80B20) and 50,000 h for the driver. The plain, smooth body without ornament suits a modern, minimalist façade.
