NORLYS Asker Big 1308AL is an outdoor wall light with a rectangular body and a diffuser on its underside. The cast aluminium housing is powder-coated in the aluminium finish RAL 9006, while transparent, textured polycarbonate closes the lower light opening. This is the downward-lighting version, not a fitting that emits light both upwards and downwards.

A horizontal fitting for the wall

The body measures 30.2 cm wide and 12.5 cm high, with a projection of 12.1 cm from the wall. Compare these dimensions with the intended mounting area beside an entrance, on a façade or on a terrace wall. Its width creates a horizontal accent rather than the proportions of a narrow, upright wall light.

The plain front, straight edges and silver-coloured finish suit modern and minimalist architecture. IP65 protection supports outdoor installation in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This is a wall-mounted fitting, not a freestanding garden bollard for installation on paving or in the ground.

Warm white light directed downwards

Two LED modules and an electronic driver form part of the fitting. The 3000 K colour temperature gives warm white light, and the complete luminaire delivers 618 lm at 7.2 W. Its diffuse distribution is directed into the lower hemisphere. When planning façade lighting, consider the surface beneath the fitting rather than expecting it to illuminate the wall above the housing as well.

The light supports trailing-edge phase dimming. If adjustable brightness is required, the installation needs a control compatible with that dimming method. The LED modules and control gear can be replaced by a professional service; this is not a fitting with a screw-in bulb intended for routine replacement by the user.

Planning the electrical connection

The 220–240 V supply and Class I construction require a protective earth connection. The manufacturer specifies a 68 mm hole spacing for direct mounting or a 45 mm spacing when using the intermediate plate. Cable selection, connection and installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified person following the supplied instructions. Check the housing position against the actual wall before preparing the mounting holes.
