BAILON LE43638 is a GU10 spotlight hung on a slim black rod and mounted recessed into a suspended ceiling. The cylindrical 8 cm head is black with a gold ring and sits on the side of the rod, just above its lower end.
Installation and size
The base goes into a hole in the suspended ceiling and is held by the spring clips shown on the manufacturer's drawing, so there is no surface canopy on the ceiling — only the rod coming out of it. The fitting is 64.3 cm high overall: subtract that from your room height to see where the spotlight will sit. The manufacturer does not give a cut-out diameter, so measure the base itself before cutting the hole.
Light source
The spotlight has one GU10 lampholder for a bulb of up to 10 W, which is not included. The 10 W limit rules out halogen GU10s, typically 35–50 W, so it takes an LED GU10 — the bulb decides the colour, brightness and beam angle. The fitting runs directly on 230 V mains with no separate transformer.
Construction and series
The body is aluminium. Matt black with a gold accent on the head suits modern interiors. The same BAILON spotlight comes in surface-mounted versions with a canopy, as a double version, a wall light, a desk lamp and a floor lamp, so it can be repeated in several places in one room.
