Bazar Bizar The Chalki seagrass table lamp shade natural 30 cm

The Bazar Bizar The Chalki table lamp shade is a stand-alone cylindrical seagrass shade, not a complete lamp. It is an open 30 cm drum of natural beige fibre with a metal spider and an E27 ring visible from below.

It weighs 1.24 kg and is made in Indonesia with a traditional weave. No cable, base or light source is included; the shade sits on your own table lamp with a standard E27 lampholder.

Size and how it sits on a base

Height, width and length are each 30 cm, so the shade occupies about a 30 cm square on the tabletop and rises the same distance. On a typical 30–40 cm table-lamp body the assembled lamp usually finishes around 60–70 cm above the surface — measure your base before you assume the proportion.

The cylinder does not flare, so it does not overhang neighbouring objects beyond that 30 cm diameter. Open top and bottom mean light leaves through the weave and both apertures rather than through a closed diffuser.

What arrives and what you still need

The carton contains the shade only. The manufacturer states that no cable is included and that a standard E27 fitting should be used. Bulb, base, switch and plug are not in the pack. The metal ring on the shade axis is for an E27 holder; other caps are not confirmed for this construction.

This is not an integrated LED luminaire. Wattage, colour temperature and dimming belong to the E27 lamp you fit in your own base, not to the shade itself.

Material, light and care

Seagrass is plaited in vertical cords with an uneven natural tone. Gaps in the weave scatter the bulb's light instead of concentrating it; actual brightness depends on the E27 source you choose. The colour is specified as natural — straw-beige, with the small weave variations of handmade work.

Dust with a soft cloth or brush. If needed, wipe with a lightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Indoor use only: keep it away from prolonged sun, heat and humidity. It is not a bathroom or outdoor shade.

Where it belongs and how it reads

The official uses are indoor: bedside tables, consoles and reading corners. On a nightstand the 30 cm diameter still leaves room for a book if the top is larger than the base. On a living-room console it gives a filtered side light, not dining-table illumination.

The visible seagrass weave and unornamented drum sit in a boho register. It does not mimic fabric or glass — the surface is plant fibre, with the metal spider inside the cylinder.
