The Oasis Tower Dark Walnut XL is a lampshade for a pendant fitting: a hand-woven bamboo tower 102 cm tall on a 35 x 35 cm footprint, finished in the dark Dark Walnut tone. The weave is open, so light passes between the canes and draws a pattern across walls and ceiling. The shade is topped with a metal ring, which is what it hangs from.

What is included and what you have to buy separately

You receive the shade on its own. The manufacturer states plainly that no cable is included and that a standard E27 fitting should be used. To hang it you therefore need a separately bought cord set with an E27 holder and ceiling cup, plus a bulb - only then is the light complete.

Because the weave is open, the bulb you choose stays visible through the sides of the shade, and its shape becomes part of how the light looks.

How big it is and where it fits

The shade alone measures 102 cm in height, with the cable and ceiling cup above it. Over a table the bottom edge is usually set 70-80 cm above the top, which at this height pushes the ceiling fixing past 250 cm - measure your room height before you decide. The manufacturer intends the piece for spacious interiors with a high ceiling.

The footprint is 35 x 35 cm, so the shape is markedly slender: it takes up little floor plan and works through its vertical line.

Bamboo, craft and care

The shade is hand-woven from bamboo by artisans on Bali, so the arrangement of the canes differs slightly from one piece to the next. The manufacturer recommends wiping it with a dry cloth.
