BAZAR BIZAR The Squat Spot Stool, black wood, 40 × 40 × 50 cm

The Squat Spot by BAZAR BIZAR is a black solid-wood stool that the manufacturer also identifies as a side table. Its thick circular top sits above a narrower central section and a base with arched cut-outs. The matte finish leaves the wood grain visible, particularly across the upper surface.

Compare its height with your existing furniture

The stool measures 40 cm long, 40 cm wide and 50 cm high. If you intend to use it as a side table beside a sofa or armchair, compare these measurements with the available space and the height of the seat and armrest. Its top will not automatically sit at the right level beside every piece of furniture.

At a typical dining table around 75 cm high, approximately 25 cm remains between the stool's top and the tabletop. Before choosing it as a seat, check the thickness of the tabletop and any apron beneath it, since both reduce leg clearance. A height of 50 cm does not make it a tall bar stool for a 100–110 cm counter. Measurements at home are a better guide than the apparent scale in a styled photograph.

Solid wood with individual variation

The manufacturer describes handworked solid wood and natural differences between pieces. Grain, colour tone and small traces of working may therefore differ from the photograph. The black form combines a round top with rounded supports and pronounced openings in the base. This is a distinctive shape for modern or minimalist interiors rather than a stool with an upholstered seat.

Its stated uses as a stool and side table make it worth considering for a living room, bedroom or hallway where the available space permits. Allow for passage around it as well as its own footprint.

Indoor placement and moisture-conscious care

This model originates in Indonesia and is intended only for indoor use. The manufacturer excludes outdoor use even under cover; damage associated with that use is not covered by the warranty. Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If occasionally wiping with a slightly damp cloth, dry the wood immediately afterwards and avoid excess moisture.
