Bollard light NORLYS Molde DC1899GB LED 80 cm grey beige IP54

Molde DC1899GB is an 80 cm bollard luminaire for paths and the ground around a house. The body is a powder-coated aluminium casting in grey beige (RAL 7006), and the cover in the angled head is clear, structured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. At its base the bollard is 16.5 cm wide and 11 cm deep.

How much light it gives and where it sends it

Two LED modules in the head draw 7.2 W together. The manufacturer states 1024 lm from the diodes themselves and 435 lm leaving the luminaire — the difference is absorbed by the shield that covers the light from above. 2700 K is warm, slightly yellow white, and Ra 80 is enough to tell paving from planting after dark.

The distribution is diffuse and aimed downwards: upward light output is 2.89 %, and the BUG rating B0-U1-G0 says the fitting throws practically nothing into the sky or sideways. The photometry was calculated for a mounting height of 0.8 m, that is for this bollard exactly, and it is the starting point for spacing further units.

24 V supply and what has to be bought separately

The LED module runs on 24 V DC and requires an external voltage-stabilised power supply, which is not included. The manufacturer reserves the choice of supply and the installation for a qualified person. The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 4 mm², and loop-through wiring up to 2 × 4 mm² lets several bollards run on one line; the round-sheathed cable should be 5 to 12 mm across.

The module is built for dimming controlled on the supply side, with the range and the method set by the design of the installation. The light source is not user-replaceable — the manufacturer provides for the LED module to be changed by professional service only, and states an L80 lifetime above 102,000 hours.

Mounting and resistance to weather

The fitting is anchored through four ø7 mm holes spaced 18 × 50 mm. Norlys sells anchors and adapters for concrete, for soil and for a finished foundation separately, so the footing suits the ground.

IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction; the fitting is not intended for jets of water or for immersion. IK07 impact resistance and an operating range of −30 to +50 °C allow the bollard to stay outdoors all year. The luminaire itself weighs 2 kg.
