DORRIA is a round LED ceiling light 50 cm in diameter in a creamy beige: a low steel drum shade closed underneath by an acrylic diffuser. It is fixed to the ceiling by a round canopy, above which the shade appears to float slightly.
Dimensions and installation
The light is 15 cm tall including the canopy, which is itself 4 cm high and 20 cm in diameter – enough to cover a standard ceiling junction box. At 50 cm across and this shallow, the fitting stays a flat element even in a room with a lower ceiling. It runs on 230 V mains.
How much light, and what kind
The light source is an integrated 36 W LED module delivering 1837 lm – more than twice an old 60 W bulb, which is main-lighting level for a room. At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellowish, close to a traditional incandescent bulb. The acrylic diffuser covers the whole underside of the shade and spreads the light across the full width of the fitting.
The LEDs are built in permanently, so there are no bulbs to buy and none to replace like a bulb. The light can be dimmed, but it needs a TRIAC phase-cut dimmer.
Construction and interiors
It is made of steel, aluminium and acrylic. The plain form without decoration, in a light warm colour, suits modern and minimalist interiors – as the main light in a living room or bedroom, where the warm 2700 K light and the dimming let you bring the brightness down in the evening.
