PALOMA N°3 is a handmade pendant light from the Polish studio Las Plumas, with a cylindrical velvet shade. The fabric carries a marbled pattern in pink and blue with gold veining, the edges are trimmed with violet cord, and violet-blue fringing hangs below the lower rim.
What it is made of
The velvet is stretched over a black lacquered frame, and the inside of the shade has a glossy gold lining. Light reflected off the gold lining takes on a warmer, amber tone, so when choosing a bulb it is worth allowing for the room light coming out warmer than the bulb itself. The fringe is 14 cm long and softens the sharp edge of light below the shade.
How big it is
The maker produces this model in several sizes: the specification gives a shade diameter of 20 to 45 cm and a shade height of 15 to 27 cm, plus the 14 cm fringe. The cable is 150 cm long, so the hanging height is set by shortening it during installation.
What is in the box
The light arrives complete, with an E27 lampholder, a 1.5 m cable and a 10 × 3 cm ceiling canopy. No bulb is included; any E27 bulb fits. IP20 means it is intended for dry interiors such as a living room, bedroom or dining room.
Every piece is sewn by hand, so the way the pattern falls on the fabric can differ slightly from the photograph. The Paloma family includes patterns N°1, N°2 and N°3 with the same construction. Rich colours, fringing and gold inside make this glamour in its maximalist form.
