Las Plumas is a Polish brand of lamps and interior decorations, with an office and showroom in Pilawa near Warsaw. It is the work of Barbara Tołubińska and Piotr Kania, designers and architects who also run the sister brand Green Designers. Las Plumas makes everything by hand – shades, lamps and accessories – and designs for homes as well as for hotels, spas and other projects, alongside ready pieces and installations made to order.
The maker describes its style as elegance and maximalism with a touch of extravagance. Drum shades in velour come in bold colours, lined with glossy gold inside and trimmed with braids, cords, fringes and tassels. Gold-painted resin animals – parrots, hummingbirds, ostriches, a snake, a rabbit, a giraffe – hang inside the shade or form the body of the lamp. The names tell a story too: pendants carry Spanish bird names such as Paloma, Perdiz and Gaviota, chandeliers are named after islands such as Oahu and Palma, while standing lamps, wall lights and sculptures carry Spanish first names.
At Lunares you will find Las Plumas pendant lights with velvet shades, with or without a figure, multi-shade chandeliers such as Oahu and Palma, lamps that stand on a cabinet or the floor such as Pili, Melania and Ricardo, wall lights such as Imelda and table lamps such as Jaime. There are also figurines to hang inside a lamp and decorative sculptures such as the Leonardo lion or the Bruno sloth.
