FIGURE M N°6 is a gold parrot figurine cast in resin and set on a thin gold-toned hoop. The bird sits sideways on the hoop, crest raised and tail hanging down, and the whole casting carries clearly worked feather detail. The manufacturer intends it to hang inside a lamp.

How big the figurine is and how it hangs

With the hoop, the figurine measures 41 cm high and 28 cm wide. Those are the figures to compare with the shade it will hang under: in the manufacturer's photographs the hoop is hooked at the lower edge of the shade and the bird hangs below it, at the eye level of someone standing in the room.

The parrot hangs on that hoop alone and has no fixing of its own for a ceiling or a wall. It contains no electrics — no lampholder, no cable — so hanging it changes nothing about the lamp's wiring.

What it is made of

The casting is resin, which at this size weighs noticeably less than the equivalent metal casting. That matters because the figurine is suspended from a finished lamp rather than from a ceiling hook of its own.

The gold finish is glossy, so the casting picks up light in highlights and the feathers read as lighter and darker bands rather than one flat surface. Las Plumas is a Polish handmade studio and sells these figurines as an accessory to its own lamps — the fringed velvet shades visible in the styled photographs.
